| OPEN HOUSE CELEBRATION SET FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2 |
| Stevens Point, WI (June 10, 2008) — Team Schierl Companies will play a significant role in the development of a multi-million dollar renovation project to the Community Stadium located at Stevens Point’s Goerke Park. A groundbreaking ceremony for the project is scheduled to be held Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 11:00 am at the stadium located at 1000 Minnesota Avenue.
Tim Schierl, Co-CEO of the Stevens Point-based Team Schierl Companies, spearheaded the renovation project. Schierl secured in-kind and financial commitments to bring the project to fruition. A proposal was presented to the Board of Parks Commissioners earlier this spring that was unanimously approved.
In recent years Schierl recognized that Stevens Point was missing out on some very lucrative and beneficial opportunities at the Goerke Park facility. Schierl says, “We have a multi-million dollar asset sitting right smack in the middle of our community that is used for only about 25 events per year. Renovations to the stadium would significantly increase that number. Oshkosh had a similar situation about five years ago. Upgrades and a renovation of that stadium now generates over 190 uses per year resulting in an estimated additional $26 million annually to the local economy.”
The NFL recently considered utilizing UW-Stevens Point as a summer training camp facility for the St. Louis Rams. Ultimately, the uncertainty of the venue’s ability to accommodate the NFL team’s artificial turf requirements led to a missed opportunity. “This would have been great for UW-Stevens Point, Portage County, and the city of Stevens Point as the positive economic impact would have been huge,” Schierl said. The upgraded facility would be able to accommodate WIAA, NCAA, and semi-professional sporting events. It could also serve as a venue for other larger scale special events.
Goerke Park sits on the site of Stevens Point’s once famous fairgrounds where thousands would gather for community events dating back to the 1920’s. The current stone structure was built in the 1930’s as part of The Depression-era relief efforts set forth by the Civil Work Administration.
Schierl has a deep personal interest in the Community Stadium project. “This project has really been a labor of love for me and my family. Several generations of the Schierl family have played on the field at Goerke Park. My dad played football on that field back in the 40’s, my mother Anne, was a cheerleader on the sidelines. My brothers and I all played sports on that field and now my six kids are able to use it. My family, like many here in the Portage County area, have deep rooted and fond memories of Goerke Park. I knew that the timing was right and the tradition needed to be kept alive for the future generations of Portage County residents.”
Renovation plans include replacing the grass field with artificial turf, upgrading the track and field area, adding team rooms, public restrooms, and a plaza, while approximately doubling the stadium seating capacity from 3,500 to over 6,000. New entryways will be created and a new state-of-the-art scoreboard will be erected. The plan may also include the option of installing an inflatable dome to allow for year-round play in the future.
The stadium serves as home field for the UW-Stevens Point Pointers, SPASH Panthers, and Pacelli Cardinals. The facility will serve many Portage County area youth annually. In addition, teams from P.J. Jacobs Junior High and the YMCA will also be able to use the field. In recent years, increased popularity of soccer, rugby, and lacrosse provide other potential uses in the future. All of these institutions, as well as the city of Stevens Point, and the generous contributions from local businesses, like the Team Schierl Companies have supported the renovation.
The project, which is expected to cost between $2.5 and $3.9 million, will be paid for through private and corporate contributions and sponsorships, and by selling advertising at the stadium. In addition, selling the naming rights to the newly renovated stadium could generate $1 million dollars.

| New Look for The Store |
| Stevens Point, WI (April 23, 2008)—Team Schierl Companies is unveiling an entirely new look for its group of convenience stores throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Upon opening the new concept Store at Crossroad Commons in Stevens Point, the 31-year-old convenience store brand identity has begun its transition with a refreshed look and addition of bright orange and yellow graphics.
The general public will notice that the enhanced treatment of The Store logo, which has served the company well for decades, has remained very much intact, while the presentation of the logo typeface has been modernized. “We wanted to keep the brand equity that we’ve built over our 31 years in business, while modernizing the logo to enable our convenience store chain to continue to grow and expand,” said Fritz Schierl, co-CEO of Team Schierl Companies.
As part of the re-branding, The Store has begun upgrading each location with the new graphic package on pumps, exterior canopies, and building signage. Another major change that consumers may or may not be aware of, but is also occurring as the rollout is being completed, is a corporate decision by Team Schierl Companies to sell fuel refined from North American crude.
“The new brand for The Store is the culmination of thoughtful design elements, state-of-the-art Gilbarco gas pumps with electronic calibration, merchandising programs, as well as an expansion of products and service offerings that enhance our Guest’s shopping experience,” Schierl added. The strategy behind the new logo was to introduce a design that offered Guests the feeling of familiarity, along with the freshness of something exciting and new.
